General Information
The Semovente da 90/53 su scafo di carro M41 was designed in 1941, manufactured by Fiat-Ansaldo based on the existing fully tracked M13/40 and was in use from 1942 to 1944.

The vehicle was powered by FIAT-SPA 'SPA 15-TM-41' petrol powerplant producing 145 HP which could drive the vehicle on roads at up to 15 mph with a range of about 124 miles before refuelling. Its cross country performance was adequate providing a max speed of about 8 mph and a range of about 49 miles.

Its main armament consisted of an Cannone contracarro da 90/53 which could penetrate 189 mm of flat plate at 200 metres

The Semovente 90/53 was a self propelled gun based on the M13/40 chassis.

The vehicle was powered by a Fiat diesel engine of 145hp the front drive sprockets took the track inder eight road wheels on two bogies, round the rear idler and back via three return rollers.

The gun was a 90mm L/43 howitzer mounted in a box shaped superstructure.

Hit probability is based on a static 2 x 2.4 metre panel at 0 degrees(vertical) at the range specified.

The data that has been used to create these records has come from Wikipedia, The Lone Sentry, The Bundes Archive and numerous books and websites that have provided the detailed information that has not been available anywhere else. The information we use to calculate the penetration tables, flight times and the hit probability comes from the Gun Calibre, the Shell Mass(Kg) and the muzzle velocity, plus range reductions to allow for gravity and wind resistance. This calculation originally came from a pre-war Krupp calculation which has been modified, and seems to fit the actual test results.
